The town of Thompson, Connecticut is responsible for fixing roads in our town. Therefore, our College Prep Government class has chose Pompeo Road as our problematic road. If the town decides to hire a private construction company to fix Pompeo Road, then our public policy will require the assistance of private sphere. The private company will help and decide what part of the road is the worst and give support to follow through with it. It will also require the assistance of the government because they could use the town trucks.

Fixing roads only "promotes the general Welfare" and creates better transportation for the community and also other people that travel through the town.

Fixing roads will help and benefit many people. Potholes and roads in poor condition need to be fixed or else the roads are going to get worse. Fixing roads will help many citizens of Thompson, Connecticut and other people that travel through the town from harm that dangerous roads may cause them. Roads that are paved poorly can damage your car and can cause harm to passengers in the car. This public policy does not interfere with any of the individual rights such as freedom of religion, expression, due process of law, privacy, or equality of opportunity. Fixing the roads is only to benefit the safety of the town and its citizens. Working on the road will give the disadvantage of not being able to drive on the road while its being fixed. Also, the noise may interrupt the residents living on the road. However, it will benefit them in the end because they will have a newly paved road and it will be even more beneficial in the Winter when the roads are bad.
